Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8-21-2026
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy describes how Cyber Inspired LLC collects, uses, and protects information through A+Planner, used by teachers, students, support staff, administrators, and superintendents at participating schools and districts.
2. Information We Collect
| Category | Examples |
|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email, role, school/district affiliation |
| Lesson plan content | Subject, grade level, standards, generated and edited plan text |
| Student accommodation data | Anonymized only — labels like "Student 1," plus IEP/504/ELL accommodation notes. The Service is designed to never require real student names in this data. |
| Incident reports | Report details, involved parties, witnesses, administrator disposition notes |
| Tip Line submissions | Category, details, and — unless the submitter chooses to identify themselves — no name is stored |
| Hall Pass records | Student name, destination, timestamps, approving teacher |
| Usage data | Feature usage, login timestamps, AI generation logs (for cost/usage tracking) |
| Billing information | Processed by our payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full payment card numbers |
3. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To generate AI-assisted lesson plans and reports based on content you provide.
- To route incident reports, tips, and hall pass requests to the appropriate school staff.
- To process subscription billing and communicate about your account.
- To maintain security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use student data to build advertising profiles or for any purpose unrelated to providing the Service to your school or district.
4. Student Data and FERPA
Where a school or district uses the Service to process education records, we act under the school or district's direction as a "school official" with a legitimate educational interest under FERPA (or the equivalent role under applicable state law), subject to the terms of a Data Privacy Agreement executed with that school or district. Schools and districts retain ownership and control of their student data at all times.
The Service's Student Accommodations Roster is intentionally designed around anonymized labels rather than real student names, specifically to reduce the amount of directly identifiable student data stored.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We use the following categories of subprocessors to operate the Service:
- Google Firebase — authentication, database, and hosting infrastructure.
- Anthropic — AI generation for lesson plans and related content. Content sent for generation is used to produce your requested output and is not used by Anthropic to train models, per Anthropic's API terms.
- Stripe — payment processing for subscriptions.
- Email delivery provider — for account and notification emails.
6. Data Retention
We retain account and content data for as long as the account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. Upon termination of a subscription or contract, data is retained for a limited period to allow export, then deleted in accordance with the applicable Data Privacy Agreement.
7. Data Security
Access to data is restricted by role-based permissions enforced at the database level. Passwords are never stored in plain text (handled by Firebase Authentication). We encourage districts to review our security practices as part of any procurement or security assessment process — we are happy to complete a security questionnaire on request.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting support@cyberinspired.com or your school/district administrator.
- Parents and eligible students may direct FERPA-related requests to their school or district, who can coordinate with us as needed.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service may be used by students under 18, provisioned and supervised by their school. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children outside of this school-directed context, and student accounts are created and managed by school staff, not by the student independently signing up.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting an updated version with a new "Last updated" date, and, where required by a Data Privacy Agreement, by direct notice to district administrators.
11. Contact
Questions about this Privacy Policy, or requests related to student data, can be sent to support@cyberinspired.com.
